What changes
Softer paint cuts both ways.
Softer paint marks more easily. An EV that has only been through automatic washes usually arrives more scratched than its age suggests. It also polishes more easily, and gets a lighter touch.
In practice that means less aggressive pads and compounds, more measuring, and a wash process that does not put the marks back a month later.

Over the panels film does not cover. It makes washing gentler and stops dirt bonding where it shows most.
Window Tint
A big glass roof and an Arkansas summer is a lot of solar load. Ceramic film cuts the heat, so the battery spends less on cooling the cabin.

Does Tesla paint really need different treatment?
It is softer than most. Fine scratches show up faster, dirt on the surface is easier to see, and the paint reacts more to being washed badly than most cars do. That changes how we wash it and how we correct it.
Is a coating enough, or do I need film too?
A coating handles water spotting, UV and contamination. It will not stop a rock chip. If you drive highway miles, get film on the impact areas and coating over the rest.
Will correction damage the finish?
Not when we measure the clear layer first. Softer paint polishes more easily, so we use a lighter touch.

The cheapest time to protect soft paint is while it is still unmarked. If it is already scratched, we correct first and protect second.
