That hazy web of fine circular scratches you only see in direct sun is damage to the clear layer over your paint. Washing will not remove it, and wax only fills it in until the next rain. Correction takes it out.

Where the damage comes from

Mostly, it came from washing it.

Automatic tunnels drag grit across your paint on spinning brushes. A dirty sponge does the same thing more slowly. Every pass leaves fine scratches. After a couple of years, those scratches are why the car looks dull.

Correction levels the clear layer until the scratches are gone, using a machine polisher and cutting compounds in stages. The clear layer only has so much thickness to give, so we measure it first.

What these prices assume: Correction is quoted on the condition of your paint. These are the two levels we run most.

We measure how much clear layer your paint has left as we go. If it cannot take a correction safely, we tell you before we start.

Single panel work

Deep scratch repair and touch up paint.

A correction polishes the whole vehicle. For one key scratch down a door, a stone strike on a hood edge or a scuff on one bumper corner, we fix that panel only. We price it per panel or per damaged area.

Every one of our coating packages includes correction, so it is already in the price. Without a coating, we finish with a sealant.

Correction questions

Before you book.

Will correction remove every scratch?

Not always. Your paint has a clear layer on top of it, and if your fingernail catches in a scratch, that scratch has gone through it. Polishing will not bring that back. Most light scratches never get that deep, and those we can polish out. Send us a photo and we will tell you which one you have.

What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?

Level 1 is a single polishing step and takes out about half the scratches or better. That is enough for most cars. Level 2 uses two different polish and pad combinations for deeper scratching and gets 90 percent or better.

How do I know if I need it?

Look at the paint in direct sunlight. If you see a hazy web of fine circular scratches, that is exactly what correction removes.

Is it safe for my paint?

We measure the clear layer as we go. If your paint cannot take a correction safely, we tell you before we start.
